Two Irish music gems come together in this grand concert to kick start CCOHK’s 2025-2026 season. Barry Douglas, the internationally acclaimed Irish pianist and gold medallist of the 1986 International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition, performs the emperor of Beethoven’s piano concertos under the baton of Vahan Mardirossian. CCOHK completes the evening with a symphony of boundless attractive melody, conceived on a jolting car ride through the Irish countryside by Sir Arthur Sullivan, composer of Gilbert and Sullivan fame.

巴里‧道格拉斯與香港城市室樂團
兩位愛爾蘭音樂瑰寶在這場盛大音樂會中攜手，為香港城市室樂團2025/2026樂季揭開序幕。巴里．道格拉斯——國際知名愛爾蘭鋼琴家暨1986年國際柴可夫斯基鋼琴大賽金獎得主——將在瓦安．馬狄洛辛的指揮下，演奏貝多芬鋼琴協奏曲中的帝皇傑作。香港城市室樂團並以亞瑟．蘇利文 爵士的交響曲為音樂會作結。蘇利文以「吉伯特與蘇利文」組合聞名於世，此曲洋溢著賞心悅耳的旋律，靈感源自他於愛爾蘭鄉間顛簸車程中的奇思妙想。
