After rising to fame in the French New Wave, Michel Legrand transitioned to American film, leaving an undeniable mark on Hollywood cinema. Yentl Suite was dedicated to virtuoso harpist Catherine Michel and features sweeping melodies derived from one of Legrand’s most celebrated and academy-award winning cinematic works. Catherine Michel’s programme with CCOHK also highlights French impressionistic works for harp and strings by Debussy and Ravel, and the Fahrenheit 451 Suite by music-dramatist and Hollywood cinema great, Bernard Herrmann.

米修·勒格朗憑藉法國新浪潮電影而聲名鵲起，其後進軍美國影壇，在荷里活電影史上留下不可磨滅的印記。《恩桃》組曲為豎琴名家嘉芙蓮・米雪爾而創作，當中融入蘭格膾炙人口、並曾榮獲奧斯卡殊榮的電影音樂中的優美旋律，流麗動人。是次與香港城市室樂團合作的節目中，米雪爾亦將演繹德布西與拉威爾為豎琴與弦樂而譜寫、充滿法國印象派色彩的經典作品，以及著名音樂劇作家、荷里活電影配樂大師赫曼的《華氏451度》組曲。
