Yongyut Tossponapinun was born in Thailand and obtained his Bachelor of Music degrees from the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. From 1991 to 1995 he performed as Principal Tuba of the Asian Youth Orchestra and toured to Asia, Europe and the USA. He served as the Principal Tuba of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra from 1989 to 1992 and Principal Tuba of Hong Kong Sinfonietta from 1995 to 1998. In 1995 he joined the World Philharmonic Orchestra for a special concert marking the King of Thailand’s 50th Coronation Anniversary. Yongyut Tossponapinun joined City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as Principal Tuba in 2003. He has also performed with the Macau Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia and is active in Hong Kong as a tuba teacher and a band conductor.
