Joshua MacCluer was born in the USA and has enjoyed an international performing career in collaboration with many of the world’s finest artists and on the greatest stages of the world. He has shared the stage with many legendary artists including Yo Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Wayne Shorter, Arturo Sandoval, Doc Severinsen, Liza Minelli, Placido Domingo, Jaap Van Zweden, Yuja Wang, Joe Hisaishi, Leah Salonga, Blood Sweat and Tears, Idina Menzel, Lorin Maazel, Yuri Temirkanov and Vladimir Ashkenazy among others. A highly accomplished orchestral musician, his experience spans more than two decades with some of the world’s finest orchestras, including six years as Principal Trumpet of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra with whom he toured to Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. As a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer conversant in jazz, Latin, contemporary and New Age styles, he has performed in numerous, festivals, clubs and private shows in over 25 countries. Joshua MacCluer joined City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as Principal Trumpet in 2019 and is currently based in Hawaii.
