Chanannat Meenanan was born in Thailand and began studying the oboe from the age of thirteen. He graduated from the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok with a Bachelor of Music degree. During his undergraduate studies he performed with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, the Ibycus Chamber Music Ensemble and the Pro Musica Woodwind Quintet. Upon graduation he was appointed Principal Oboe of the National Symphony Orchestra of Thailand. In 1998 he was awarded a full scholarship to study at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) under Anthony Camden, former Principal Oboe of the London Symphony Orchestra. For three consecutive years he won the Academy Concerto Competition and performed as Principal Oboe of the HKAPA Academy Symphony Orchestra on tour to Europe and Asia. Additionally, he was a featured soloist at the Casals Festival in France and the Carinthia Music Festival in Austria. Upon graduation from the HKAPA, Chanannat Meenanan has performed with several orchestras in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau and has been a member of the Dartington Festival Orchestra in the UK since 2008. He joined City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as Tutti Oboe in 2009.
