Lau Yee Yeung


Lau Yee Yeung was born in Beijing and studied harp with Skaila Kanga and Catherine White in London. She graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London and the University of London and holds a double Master of Arts degree. In 2019 she was appointed an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM), a title awarded to musicians who have made significant contributions in their musical fields. She is the recipient of numerous prizes. She has given numerous solo performances and recitals around world including Amsterdam, Switzerland and at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London. As a member of the Royal Academy of Music Harp Ensemble she performed for the Duchess of Gloucester and HRH Prince Charles's 60th Birthday Concert at the Royal Opera House in London. Her charitable performances include a concert with the renowned Hollywood movie star Kristin Davis from Sex and the City fame for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in support of safeguarding refugees. Lau Yee Yeung has been honoured with many awards for her teaching excellence and leadership in harp education. She is currently Associate Music Director at the Harp Chamber in Hong Kong where her students have garnered numerous prizes at international harp competitions.
