Born
in Korea, Hyang Yoo began learning the violin from her father who
was also a professional violinist. She received a scholarship from the
Choong Ang University, Seoul and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in
Music and a Masters in Music degree. She then continued her studies with
Nelli Shkolikova at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia
and then with Christopher Kimber in Sydney. Before moving to Hong Kong
she performed as a member of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Canberra
Symphony Orchestra and the Seoul Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. She has
also given numerous recitals in Korea, Australia and Hong Kong. Hyang
is currently a founding member of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
She has been teaching violin for over 25 years on a private basis.
