JON CHROMIK Czech-born horn player Jon Chromik has had more than 30 years professional experience both as a musician and music educator. He is a graduate of the State Conservatory of Music Brno and the Janacek Academy of Performing Arts in the Czech Republic. He studied horn under Professor Frantisek Solc. During his graduate studies he became a full time member of the major Czech orchestras including the National Opera Orchestra in Brno and the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra. He also performed with the Brno Philharmonic and the State Radio Orchestra among the others. Jon holds a Masters Degree in Music Education and a Ph.D at the University of Connecticut in the USA. In the USA he was a member of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and worked as a freelance musician. His experience includes teaching Horn at the Cairo Conservatory of Music in Egypt, the University of Connecticut and at the Hollins University in Virginia. He joined the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2006.
