DAMARA LOMDARIDZE
Hong Kong based violist Damara Lomdaridze appears around the world as a solo, chamber and orchestra musician. She is a member of City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and has also performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Before moving to Hong Kong, Damara was a tenured member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans where she was appointed acting assistant principal viola. Damara holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Indiana University where she received music and honors scholarships. Damara taught violin and viola as a teaching fellow at the University of North Texas where she earned her Masters of Music in Viola Performance. At UNT, Damara won the Concerto Competition and was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student in Instrumental Studies. Damara studied with the violists Wayne Crouse, Joseph DePasquale, Atar Arad, Rainer Moog, Alan DeVeritch and George Papich. Damara was a member of the Pharos Soloists and toured with the ensemble to Cyprus, Prague and London. She has participated in several music festivals including the Manchester Music Festival and the Bravo Chamber Music Festival and with orchestras such as the Missouri Chamber Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra in the USA. Damara is also a dedicated teacher of students of all ages and levels of viola and violin. |
