AMOS LEE
Amos Lee Ka-yiu began the trumpet at the age of 13. He received his diploma in trumpet performance from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1993 and a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts in 1996. In 1997 he was the recipient of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund which enabled him to further his studies in the USA. In 1999 he graduated from the Indiana University with a Masters in Music Degree. Among his teachers were Jonathan Fields (winner of the 1992 International Toulon Trumpet Competition) and Brian Thomson (a former principal trumpet of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra) and Edmund Cord (USA). In 1994 and 1995 Amos performed with the Asian Youth Orchestra and toured to many cities in Asia and the USA. In 1995 he led the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Brass Quintet for a performance for the Hong Kong Arts Festival and on tour to London. In 2000 he performed Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.2 with the Macau Chamber Orchestra. Amos is currently active as a performer and brass teacher in Hong Kong. He performs in studio recordings, musical productions and various orchestra and band performances. he has been performing with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong
since 2003.  |
