On 23 April 2010 the CCOHK presented SINGAPORE STAR featuring the 19-year old child prodigy Singaporean violinist Loh Jun-Hong. Here are some comments from audience members who attended the concert:

The joint performance of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (CCOHK) and the distinguished Singaporean violinist reached musical perfection. I can say the CCOHK always guarantees professional performances.
Ms. Mok (North Point)

By organizing such a performance, the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong not only facilities the public to appreciate Mr. Loh Jun-hong’s excellence in playing the violin, but also sets the stage for future artists, encouraging more young people to follow Mr. Loh’s foot-steps. I am also very impressed by Jean Thorel’s lively conducting of the orchestra.
Ms. Lok (Happy Valley)

Mr. Loh is really an outstanding Singaporean violinist. His distinguished skills matched perfectly with the orchestra and at the same time we enjoyed masterpieces by three famous European musicians. What a great combination of East and West!
Mr. Wong (Wong Tai Sin)

Bravo! Beautiful! I liked the Haydn in the second-half of the concert!
Miss Chu (Sha Tin)

The orchestra did an outstanding job in playing the Wagner, Mozart and Haydn pieces. Very enjoyable evening!
Mrs. O’Donnell (Pok Fu Lam)

Happy strings flew all over the concert hall. A talented young violinist with professional musicians gave me a night of joy and refreshment.
Mr. Lee (Ma On Shan)

A fitting match: a young star from Singapore playing a young composer’s work. Loh Jun-hong clearly expressed the precious and youthful nature of Mozart’s music.
Mr. Yeung (Kennedy Town)

Both peaceful and energetic moods filled the night. A young superstar was the highlight of the show. His excellent and professional performance was beyond words.
Miss Wong (Sha Tin)

An interesting and well thought out programme. An enjoyable evening of music.
Dr. Tang (North Point)

Nice balance of strings and winds. Good bowing! The dynamics of the orchestra were well controlled. Conductor and soloist showed good teamwork. Loh Jun-hong is a great talent of the violin.
Mr. Wong (Sha Tin)

All the players are very professional. They played the music beautifully. It was really an enjoyable concert.
Ms. Chen (Hong Kong)

Loh Jun-hong gave an excellent performance of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. He is young and shows great potential. Jean Thorel conducted the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong with lots of flair and wit. I enjoyed the concert very much.
Mr. Young (Olympic)

The passionate and energetic performance of Haydn’s symphony No. 60 made for a happy and uplifting night.
Miss Ng (Kennedy Town)

Magnificent!
Mrs. Wong (Tuen Mun)

Excellent violin solo!
Mr. Wong (Tai Kok Tsui)
