Teresa Suen received her Master of Music and Doctor of Music degrees in performance from Northwestern University under the tutelage of Professor Elizabeth Cifani, principal harpist of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She is the recipient of a number of honours and awards, including the Brevard Music Festival Scholarship, the Lee Hysan Foundation Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council and the Hu Ge Fei Postgraduate Memorial Scholarship. From 2004 to 2007 she served as the principal harpist of the Evanston Symphony Orchestra in the USA. During this time she also performed with the Illinois, Park Ridge Civic and Rockford Symphony Orchestras, Opera Moda and as an invited soloist at the First International Harp Festival (2003) and the Fine Arts String Festival (2004). Upon her return to Hong Kong she was invited to give a solo recital at the Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2009. Teresa began her harp studies with Michelle Abbott at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and later graduated with first-class honours in music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is currently a harp instructor and adjunct assistant professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
