Pilar Alvarez and Claudio Hoffmann, choreographers and Masters of the Argentine Tango maintain a high profile in the world of dance, having worked at some of the most prestigious theatres and festivals around the globe. They are founding dancers with companies Tangokinesis and Tango Express, and joint directors alongside Daniel Binelli of Tango Metropolis, a show which has toured extensively throughout many countries. The duo has also performed with Tango Pasion, Néstor Marconi’s Orchestra, Tanguisimo, and with some of the greatest figures of international ballet. Other entertainments include “Gala des Etoiles du XXI Siecle" (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris), "Night of the Stars" (National Opera of Helsinki), and “Stars of the 21st Century” (Toronto Centre for the Arts). Alvarez and Hoffmann directed and peformed the choreography for the highly acclaimed film “Tango, the Spirit of Argentina” (2005), and have appeared in other films. Besides creating original and inspiring dance routines, both dancers teach Tango and Argentinian Folkdance at International Festivals of Tango, and run masterclasses at the Bailongu School of Dance in Barcelona.
