CLOCK! This innovative youth outreach programme aims to bridge musical
and generation gaps in just one evening. Be enlightened by what our upcoming
generation has to say through original compositions with the backing and
support of the CCOHK strings. Song creations and digital media produced
during this concert will be dedicated to various children charities.

Allen Vizzutti's sound
of the trumpet is like the planet Venus - out of this world! From the
regal piccolo of Bach's Brandenburg concerto No. 2 to the jaw-dropping
virtuosity of Vizzutti's own carnival variations, audiences can expect
an evening of exceptional variety and showmanship.

Mao Yuan: Two
Scenes from China for chamber orchestra
Situ Gang: Double concerto for erhu, violin and strings
Tan Dun: Crouching Tiger concerto for erhu and chamber orchestra

The combined sounds
of the two-stringed Chinese erhu and the violin make this a rare East-meets-West
event. Erhu master Hsin Hsiao-hung and the CCOHK's own concertmaster Ho
Hong-ying perform the Hong Kong premiere of Situ Gang's double concerto
for erhu and violin. The programme also includes the perennially popular
melodies of Mao Yuan and a compelling chamber version of Tan Dun's Oscar-winning
soundtrack Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
This programme will
be repeated on the CCOHK's Italian tour to L'Aquila, Ascoli Piceno, Vasto
and at the "XIII Mostra Biennale di Liuteria nel Mezzogiorno"
festival in Ortona near Rome with the support of the Arts Development
Fund of the Home Affairs Bureau, the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region.

The Gurfinkel Clarinet
Duo comprises two outstanding fifteen-year-old clarinettists who just
happen to be brother twins. Born in Israel to a family of esteemed clarinet
players, Daniel and Alexander Gurfinkel won the prestigious "maestro
competition for young prodigies" at the first Israeli Competition
for Woodwind Players at the age of nine. They have toured internationally
with Vladimir Spivakov and the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Yuri
Bashmet and Zubin Mehta.

Hailed as the "Paganini of the Harmonica" by the Los Angeles
Times, Robert Bonfiglio dazzles audiences worldwide with his versatility
in a wide range of styles from classical harmonica concertos to sizzling
blues. He joins the CCOHK in a programme featuring music from North and
South America including a work by Sir George Martin who was better known
as the "fifth" Beatle.

"The Magic Jungle"
is an edutaining musical experience designed to introduce children to
the instruments of the orchestra. Through a set of adventures Max the
monkey takes Tim and Rosie to his home in the Magic Jungle. Soon they
discover that every animal in the jungle can play a musical instrument
- the hippo plays the piccolo, the baboon plays the bassoon. One by one
they are dazzled by the sounds of the "Magic Jungle". Meanwhile,
there is trouble afoot as the villainous snake who plays the oboe seeks
to create disharmony by turning the other animal's instruments into woodblocks
..
