Audition Requirements
Flute, oboe, bassoon:
1 baroque work & 1 classical or modern work
Recorder: 1 baroque work & 1 modern work
Clarinet: 1 classical work & 1 modern work
French Horn: 1 baroque or classical work & one modern work
Trumpet: 1 baroque work & 1 classical work
Trombone: 2 contrasting works (own choice)
All Strings: 1 baroque work & 1 classical or modern work
Harp: 1 baroque work & 1 modern work
Percussion: 2 contrasting works (own choice) *
Chinese Percussion: 1 Xiang-jiang drum solo & 1 Chinese or Peking
opera drum solo *
Keyboard (Piano & harpsichord): 1 baroque work & 1 classical
or modern work
Notes:
Bring a copy of
the music you will play to the audition
If performing works
of several movements such as concerti or sonatas please only prepare
ONE movement
Baroque refers
to composers such as Telemann, Vivaldi, Bach, Albinoni, Handel, Valentine,
Corelli, Fasch, Geminiani, Locatelli etc
Classical refers
to composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Hummel, Stamitz, Rossini, Donizetti,
Rosetti
* percussionists must
state which instruments they require at the audition
