| In 2001 in Genoa, Italy an envelope containing old gut strings and bearing the handwritten note "Antiche corde del Violino di Nicolo' Paganini" was discovered inside the violin case belonging to the same violin that Paganini played on. Historians have since verified these to be the original set of strings Paganini used on his violin. The strings were subsequently measured by the expert Italian gut string maker Mimmo Peruffo, who has since produced identical copies. Italian violinist Andrea Zanchetta will play the music of Paganini on a set of these newly made strings in an effort to bring us closer to the sound world of one of the most remarkable violinists in the history of music. Don’t miss this fascinating programme! Websites: www.andrea-zanchetta.com, www.icc.org Tickets available from HK Ticketing from 5.05.10 (Tel:31 288 288)
